Convening in the capital, the 5th Cohort of the Green Zameen Fellowship took a deep dive into the world of Policy & Advocacy. Given the proximity to legislative bodies, this session was uniquely positioned to bridge grassroots activism with high-level policy making.
Policy Dialogues
Fellows had the unique opportunity to attend panel discussions with policymakers and representatives from the Ministry of Climate Change. Key topics included:
- Implementation gaps in the National Climate Change Policy.
- The role of youth in climate governance.
- Public-private partnerships for green infrastructure.
Drafting for Change
A highlight of this cohort was the "Policy Hackathon," where fellows worked in groups to draft policy briefs addressing local environmental issues such as Margalla Hills preservation and waste management in Sector I-10.
Several of these briefs have been shared with relevant local bodies, proving that youth voices, when channeled effectively, can contribute meaningfully to governance discourse.
